Hi, I am Katie Wilson. I am married to love of my life and my best friend, Jamie Wilson. We have 4 amazing children; Hunter (13), Dylan (12), Savanna (10), and Kyla (3). We began our homeschool adventure 9 years ago, and have been enjoying the journey ever since. We have lived in this area for about three years now and have enjoyed all of the opportunities that Chess Co-op has given us and look forward to the experiences ahead

The Co-Op offers classes for

K4 - 12th grade. We meet on

Tuesday's during the school year for

3 - 6 weeks sessions at the First Baptist Church in TyTy. Our classes range from PE games to art, geography, music to making things out of Duct tape and learning geometry via Minecraft.

There are no fees to join or annual membership fees. There is a small fee per class that changes every 6 weeks due to the number of children we have registered. For example, class fees for the past session were for K4 - 2nd grade: $35 per child and 3rd - 12th grade: $15 per class. The class fees cover the teacher's compensation and any supplies needed for class.

The Co-Op has several parties and go on a variety of field trips throughout the year where we welcome the families to join us on these adventures. We also offer PE on select Friday's throughout the school year at First Baptist Church Family Life Centre for the kids to enjoy and don't forget about our end of year Field Day for the whole Family.

Our teachers are parents within CHESS and we ask volunteers to teach classes that the Leadership compiles or if they have an idea for a class that they would like to teach. We also ask our parents to help in the nursery that's provided for Co-Op teachers with their little ones or just to lend a hand with some basic cleaning up of the church at the end of the day when Co-Op is over.

The Leadership Team conducts interviews of families before allowing them to begin in activities, and we ask that you sign a Statement of Faith. The interview is very informal and is more of a meet & greet to give you an opportunity to ask questions and to complete some contact information sheets.
