Literature:

Have you ever considered that music is a form of literature? Hymns are praises to God, but many of them can read like a poem. The book of Psalms is really a hymn book, but we read it today to find truth, challenges, encouragement and praises to God. It is a beautiful work of words!

Print out the words to you favorite hymn. Tell me if it has a rhyming pattern. What is the theme of the hymn? Does it challenge you? Remind you of who God is? Praise God? What is the purpose of the hymn you chose? If you do not have a hymn, as someone like a grandparent.

8th Grade

Grammar:

Pages 27-28: 2-6 and 2-7 (use the teaching videos above for additional help)

Read page 29 and do activity 2-8.

Literature:

Read “Under the Lion‘s Paw.” Before you read, read the THINKING ZONE on page 64 about persuasion and propaganda. As you read the story, record instances where the writer is trying to persuade the reader to believe something. This means you need to really look and write something down. 🧐

Have a great weekend!
