7th and 8th Grade Language Arts

This ASSIGNMENT is for BOTH classes. Find five Bible verses that talk about the power of the tongue, how to treat others, or on friendship. Write the verse with its address AND be able to explain what it means. This will be for a grade.

7th Grade

Continue the journey with our new friends in Isle of Swords. Finish chapters 5 and 6 this weekend. What does the crew think of Ross’s plan? Find verbal clues to support your answer. Yes, this means you must write this down. What are verbal clues, you ask? Do the other pirates say anything? Do they change in attitude? Does the book describe faces that they make? Reading is also about being a detective and really digging into the story.

Continue reading Treasure Island, chapter 2 ”Black Dog Appears and Disappears” read this chapter and write a description for Black Dog. Are he and the captain really friends? How do you know? Use clues from the chapter to back up you answer. Record your answers on the same page as your description of Black Dog.

For your own information…read about the treatment Dr. Livesey gave the doctor. Bloodletting was a common practice during the 1700s.
