Algebra II
3/4-3/9. This week we did 5.4 Solving by roots. Be sure you understand: Radicals=for any real numbers a & b and any positive integer n, if an = b, then a is an nth root of b. The radical sign indicates a root. The expression under a radical sign is called the radicand.
An = b | 32= 9 | 33= 27 | 34= 81 |
n√¯b = a | √¯9 = 3 | 3√¯27 = 3 | 4√¯81 = 3 |
Square root property = if x2= k and k is > 0, then x = ± √¯k. Check your working of exercise A & B page 204. Wednesday 5.5 Complex Numbers page 208, Check your working of exercise A & B. Thursday 5.6 Solving by completing the square pages 209-212. Exercises A & B. Pay attention page 210, X square + bx + (b/2) square = (x + b/2) square. (You can see this clearer in your textbook, can't figure how to do superscript on WIX) Have ready Tuesday.
