You will be comparing opportunity cost versus opportunity benefit.

1) living in an apartment complex or townhouse and paying rent versus owning your own home

2) going to college versus going straight into the workforce

3) going to watch a movie with friends or studying all night for a big test the next day

4) getting the newest, best updated phone versus saving for your dream vacation

5) taking a part-time job with flexible hours instead of a full-time job with higher pay as a teenager straight out of high school.

Opportunity cost focuses on what's lost and opportunity benefit looks at what is gained by choosing one over the other.

~ Read the personal finance section in chapter 1 in chapter 2

Chapter 1 pages 16 - 21 over budgeting and chapter 2, pages 38 -40 covering principles of purchasing.

~ WE WILL HAVE A POP QUIZ OVER THESE TWO SECTIONS ON TUESDAY SO IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU READ THESE TWO SECTIONS.
