4th Grade Vocabulary - Chapter 2 & 3 Review
Acrostic Poem - a poem that can be read both across and down.
Thesaurus - lists entry words and gives synonyms to go with those words.
Abstract Noun - names ideas or feelings.
Collective Noun - names groups of people or things.
Common Noun - a general name of person, place, or thing.
Proper Noun - a specific person, place, or thing.
Abbreviation - a shortened form of a word.
Singular Noun - names one person, place or thing.
Plural Noun - names more than one person, place, or thing.
Possessive Noun - a noun that has or owns something.
Please be sure your student has their workbook in class I have had several not have their books this week. I don't want to start having to give zeros for this. Also encourage them to finish the year out strong! This week i've noticed on the independent pages some students will wait until we go over as a class the to complete there page. I will give them time to complete then call on different ones to answer or come up to the board to do it. I will tell them if they aren't sure of an answer to skip it and go back, but when I call on some they don't have it done but know the answer they just didn't do it. The guided practice we always do together and that is what they do again independently so I know they know what to do I just need them to show me. Thursdays workbook page I did take for a grade because of this. We don't have many weeks left, I know they can do it !!!
