Rough Draft for Compare and Contrast Essay *Due on Tuesday 4/28
A Compare and Contrast essay example is on page 303-304, along with Drafting guide and word charts to help write sentences. Use Venn Diagram from class to help write essay or chart on page 302. Rough Draft should have Introduction Paragraph, Compare Paragraph, Contrast Paragraph, and a Conclusion Paragraph.

4th Grade Vocabulary Words : Chapter 5 & 6 Review
Singular Subject - requires a singular verb. A singular verb usually ends in s or es.
Helping Verbs - have singular and plural forms.
Irregular Verbs - do not add -ed when changed to the past tense.
Progressive Verb - shows continuing action.
Linking Verb - tells what the subject is by connecting the subject to a noun, pronoun, or adjective in the predicate.
Predicate Noun - renames the subject
Predicate Adjective - describes the subject
Sensory Verbs - can be action verbs or linking verbs
Contraction - a shortened form of two words.
Direct Object - a noun in the predicate of the sentence. It tells what or who.
