5th Grade Vocabulary Words - Chapter 8 & 9 Review / suffix -ology
Personal Narrative - a story about something that has happened to the author.
Pronoun - takes the place of a noun.
Subject Pronoun - takes the place of the subject of a sentence.
Object Pronouns - replace nouns that are direct objects and objects of a preposition.
Antecedent - the noun or nouns that a pronoun renames.
Possessive Pronouns - shows ownership.
Reflexive pronoun - reflects or renames the subject of a sentence.
Homophones - are words that sound alike but have different meanings and usually different spellings.
Archaeology - study of human history and prehistory through the excavation of sites and the analysis of artifacts and other physical remains.
Terminology - the body of terms used in a particular technical area, subject of study, profession, etc.
