-Read chapters 5-8 of To Kill a Mockingbird.
-Scout's Case File Challenge Handout -Writing Prompt: Option 1:
Imagine Boo Radley secretly texts Scout, Jem, and Dill on a hidden phone, reacting to one event from Chapters 5-8. In 100-150 words, create a text message thread with 3-5 short texts from Boo, showing what he saw or felt and how he’s misunderstood in Maycomb. Include 1 quote from Chapters 5-8 in one text. Add 2 reply texts from the kids, suggesting how they could show kindness to Boo. Format it like a phone chat (e.g., speech bubbles, a list with names). Bonus points for drawing emojis in and other fun details. Also, bonus points for using COLOR! :) Option 2: Imagine Boo Radley writes a secret letter to Scout, Jem, and Dill, leaving it in the knot-hole of the oak tree. In 100-150 words, write Boo’s letter about one event from Chapters 5-8. Describe what Boo saw or felt and how he’s misunderstood by Maycomb. Use 1 quote from Chapters 5-8 to support your ideas. Connect to Mark 12:31 (‘Love your neighbor as yourself’) by suggesting how the kids could show kindness to Boo.
