Amy Maves

My name is Amy Maves and I have been teaching at CHESS Academy since the doors opened. My daughters, Cameron (now 25) and Mallory (now 23), attended CHESS starting at grades 7th and 5th and I truly believed it shaped who they are today.

My husband is the pastor at New Life Presbyterian in Tifton and we have been married over 27 years. My older daughter, Cameron, is a dance teacher and a preschool teacher and her husband, Nolan, is a SPED inclusion teacher and football/baseball coach at Perry High School. Go Panthers! My younger daughter, Mallory, works for a campus ministry at Mercer University (Go Bears!) and her husband, Griffin, is finishing up law school at Mercer. We have a goldendoodle, Sawyer, who has been a huge help to fill the house during our empty nest years.

I also have worked a physician assistant in women’s health for 29 years and have been blessed to be able to work this job part time while enjoying lots of quality family time as the girls grew up.

I love to think about, plan for, talk about, visit, and dream about Disney World Parks. I also love to read and drink coffee and hot tea.

I enjoy teaching at CHESS and am thankful that Christi puts up with my crazy teaching methods as any given day might include having the students acting out the life cycle of a mushroom or singing “Death and Taxes and Everybody Poops!” (it’s quite catchy). I love being involved in your kid’ lives and am beyond thankful to be a part of CHESS Academy.
