Whew! We have made it through the first week! We are still waiting on our textbooks, so we used this week to get acquainted with one another and our interactive notebooks.

This is what we did today: Table of contents set up Everything I know about Earth Science (page x - 1) Days of Creation (page 3) Planet booklet (page 4) Homework: - Planet field trip. Pick a planet, do some research and fill out the worksheet. You may use any type of information source, just make sure its factual. When coloring your planet, please do so with realistic colors. - Jumbo notes. This is the two pages with all of the planets inside Jupiter and Saturn. Just color them for now. Remember to use realistic colors. We will add it to our interactive notebook Tuesday. This is just for information to understand how the sizing of the planets are. Its hard for us to grasp that looking at a diagram of them together. Please read my note with your student. Sign and return the bottom portion. Here are a few neat websites/apps that may be interesting to you: - Night Sky app. This is a real-time star gazing look by location. We have the free version and enjoy finding whats up there at night. - www.NASA.org Just some really neat stuff. - www.answersingenesis.org I am really thankful that we get to look at space and our planet in the light of "God created the heavens and the earth" and the truths we find in God's word. This has a whole section about science and creation from a biblical perspective-the perspective we believe to be true. Have a great weekend!
